Brickyard Healthcare CEO Featured in Skilled Nursing News: Elevating Indiana Skilled Nursing and Post-Acute Care
Brickyard Healthcare is proud to share that our CEO, Wesley Rogers, was recently featured in Skilled Nursing News. In the article, he outlined our focused mission: delivering consistent, high-quality care across all 23 Indiana skilled nursing facilities and rehabilitation centers. His perspective highlights how operational consistency, staffing investments, and outcome-driven care are shaping the future of nursing homes in Indiana.
A Consistent Playbook for Indiana Nursing Homes
Every family wants assurance that their loved one will receive excellent care, no matter the location. Wesley explained how Brickyard’s standardized playbook is driving more reliable survey outcomes and stronger resident experiences across our Indiana care centers.
From Evansville to South Bend, Indianapolis to Richmond, this consistency ensures that families choosing a Brickyard facility can expect the same commitment to safety, service, and compassion.
Staffing Improvements: A 20% Decrease in Turnover
One of the most significant successes highlighted was in staff retention.
“Last year, we had a 20% decrease in annualized turnover,” Wesley shared. “We were in a lower 70% annualized turnover range from well above 90% the previous year.”
This improvement demonstrates how our focus on culture, retention, and leadership development is paying off. Next steps include retooling our new hire orientation to better support employees in their critical first six months.
To track progress, Brickyard has also assigned a full-time staffer at the home office dedicated to monitoring staffing and care metrics, a sign of our commitment to transparency and accountability.
Better Outcomes: Lower Rehospitalization Rates Across Indiana
Wesley also highlighted improvements in clinical outcomes. Rehospitalization rates have steadily declined, signaling stronger care continuity and smoother post-acute transitions.
- In January 2022, our average rehospitalization rate was 22.7%.
- By July 2025, it declined to 18.9%.
- Five Brickyard facilities reported an impressive 20% decline in monthly average rehospitalization rates during this time.
These numbers represent fewer disruptions for residents, better health outcomes, and stronger trust with hospital partners throughout Indiana.
Preparing for Value-Based Care in Indiana
As healthcare evolves, Brickyard is preparing for the shift to value-based care models. Our provider-owned I-SNP (Institutional Special Needs Plan) is a cornerstone of this effort, enabling better care coordination, fewer unnecessary hospitalizations, and stronger alignment between quality outcomes and financial models.
This readiness ensures that Brickyard remains a trusted partner for hospitals, payers, and families navigating today’s healthcare landscape.
Why It Matters for Indiana Families and Partners
- Families & Residents: Safer, more predictable care experiences in trusted Indiana nursing homes.
- Employees: A supportive culture with reduced turnover and stronger training.
- Referral Partners: Lower rehospitalization rates, smoother transitions, and reliable collaboration.
